Crescent Cutout Hoop Earrings from The Met Museum

$75.00

Our stylish cutout hoops recall a gold crescent nose ring (1st century B.C-2nd century A.D.) from Peru’s northern coast, possibly Salinar. It’s one of three such objects in The Met collection, all appealing in their delicacy and exquisite artisanship. Gold was typically used to craft personal adornments in ancient South America; nose ornaments were among the earliest forms of facial jewelry, made in a variety of styles and materials.
