Ottoman Star Antiqued Silver Statement Necklace from The Met Museum

This glamorous, star-studded necklace showcases an antique silver finish and sparkling Swarovski® crystals. The radiant star design celebrates a jeweled star found on an extravagantly adorned sword with scabbard in The Met collection. The length of the necklace adjusts from 16″ to 18″ for ease of wear on different occasions. The original saber is said to have been refitted in 1876 for the investiture of the Ottoman sultan Murad V. Probably assembled by a court jeweler, the magnificent sword has a 17th-century Iranian blade, an 18th-century Indian jade grip, and gem-studded gold and gilt-brass mounts of contemporary workmanship.
